By Mauro Orru

Ferrovial said it won a contract to deliver a section of a highway project in Texas for $1.47 billion.

The infrastructure company said the Texas Department of Transportation had selected it to design, build and maintain the B-1 section of the SH 99 bypass southeast of Houston.

The project will cover nearly 15 miles, connecting Brazoria and Galveston counties. The company said the final contract signing is expected this summer, with construction scheduled to be completed during the winter of 2031 and 2032.
