Siemens Launches New $7 Billion Share Buyback Program

Siemens launched a new 6 billion euros ($7.04 billion) share buyback program over a period of up to five years, as it posted higher second-quarter revenue in its industrial businesses.

The German industrial giant on Wednesday said that for the quarter ended March, net profit fell to 2.03 billion euros from 2.25 billion euros, on group revenue that was flat at 19.76 billion euros.

Analysts had expected Siemens to report net profit of 1.92 billion euros on revenue of 20.14 billion euros, according to consensus estimates compiled by the company.

Orders amounted to 24.11 billion euros, above analysts' estimated 22.29 billion euros, according to the same consensus.

Revenue at digital industries rose 8% to 4.63 billion euros, and increased by 3% to 5.93 billion euros at its smart infrastructure segment.

The company backed its outlook for fiscal 2026.
