By Aimee Look
Italy's UniCredit lifted its guidance for the year, as its first-quarter results were boosted by strong revenue.
For the full year, UniCredit said Tuesday it expects net profit equal to or above 11 billion euros ($12.86 billion). The lender previously said in its full-year results it anticipated 2026 net profit to be around 11 billion euros.
Total revenue for the first quarter grew to 6.87 billion euros, up 4.9% from the same period in the previous year. Analysts had expected revenue of 6.44 billion euros.
Stakes in Commerzbank and Alpha Bank had a 19 basis-point impact on UniCredit's CET1 ratio, which compares a bank's assets to capital. UniCredit's CET1 ratio was 14.2%, compared with 16.1% the same period a year prior.
