Stellantis, Ferrari Fall on Trump Plan to Increase Tariff on European Cars, Trucks
By Elias Schisgall
The U.S.-traded shares of Stellantis and Ferrari fell after President Trump said he would raise a tariff on European cars and trucks to 25%.
Ferrari's stock was down 1.5%, to $342.10, and touched an intraday low of $339.45 midday Friday after spending most of the morning in positive territory. Stellantis shares dipped to $7.02, before rising to $7.15, but still down 1.9%.
In a Friday post on Truth Social, Trump said he was raising the tariffs in response to the European Union "not complying with our fully agreed to Trade Deal." He said the tariff increase would go into effect next week.
"It is fully understood and agreed that, if they produce Cars and Trucks in U.S.A. Plants, there will be NO TARIFF," Trump wrote.
