DCC Shares Jump on KKR Consortium Takeover Approach
By Ian Walker
Marketing and support-services provider DCC PLC's shares rose after it said it received an indicative cash takeover offer from Energy Capital Partners and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. that it's reviewing.
The FTSE 100-listed company didn't provide any details of the indicated offer price and advised shareholders Wednesday not to take any action at this time.
Shares were up 715 pence, or 13%, at 60.95 pence in late morning European trading, implying a market capitalization of 5.21 billion pounds ($7.04 billion). Shares are up 32% over the year to date.
The consortium has until June 10 to either make a formal offer to buy DCC or walk away under Irish Takeover rules.
