Coca-Cola Shares Rise After Sales Volume, Pricing Grow

By Nicholas G. Miller

Shares of Coca-Cola were on pace for their largest percent increase since November 2020 after the company recorded sales volume growth that offset unfavorable product mix.

The stock increased 5.9% to $79.88 and is up 14% so far this year.

The company recorded case volume growth in all of its regions, led by a 5% increase in Asia Pacific and 4% growth in North America.

Pricing increased by 4%, partially offset by 2% of unfavorable mix, which the company attributed to Easter timing and unfavorable category mix from packaged water in North America, stronger growth of value offerings across Asia Pacific and geographic mix in Latin America.

"The consumers that have pressure today are the low-income consumers. And we really dialed up our affordability options to get closer to them," said Chief Executive Henrique Braun in the company's earnings call.
