Leidos Unit Gets $617 Million US Army Contract for Weapon System

By Kelly Cloonan

Leidos Holdings subsidiary Dynetics received a $617.2 million contract to provide weapon systems for the U.S. Army.

Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract, Dynetics will produce Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment Two systems, a type of mobile, ground-based weapon system that aims to counter unmanned aerial vehicle and cruise missile threats.

The systems will include launcher systems, retrofit prototype launchers, soldier trainers, weight representative training devices, contractor logistics services, initial spares and engineering services, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Bids were solicited via the internet with zero received, the Pentagon said. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 30, 2029.

Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.
