StubHub to Refund $10 Million in Fees as Part of FTC Settlement

By Nicholas G. Miller

StubHub will refund $10 million in fees to consumers to settle charges from the Federal Trade Commission that it deceptively advertised ticket prices.

The FTC alleged StubHub failed to include mandatory fees in its advertised ticket prices.

The FTC specifically cited StubHub's failure to provide the total price for NFL tickets in the lead-up to when the league's schedule was announced on May 14, 2025 in the first three pricing displays on its website.

StubHub will provide monetary relief to eligible consumers through a settlement and consumer redress distribution program. The company will also be prohibited from offering, displaying or advertising any price without clearly and conspicuously disclosing the total price.

"This settlement covers a limited number of transactions, spanning just three days in May 2025, where some listings on our site may have displayed ticket prices exclusive of fees," a StubHub spokesperson said. "While we strongly disagree with the FTC's view of the case, we are addressing their concerns by refunding a portion of those buyers' fees."
