Tata Consultancy Services reported a rise in fourth-quarter net profit, supported by higher revenue.
The Indian information-technology services provider said Thursday that net profit rose 12% from a year earlier to 137.18 billion rupees, equivalent to $1.48 billion, for the three months ended March. That beat the 136.99 billion rupees estimate in a poll of analysts by data provider Visible Alpha.
Fourth-quarter revenue increased 9.6% to 706.98 billion rupees.
Profit from its banking, financial services and insurance segment rose to 71.17 billion rupees from 63.75 billion rupees.
The company proposed a final dividend of 31 rupees a share.
The company's third consecutive quarter of sequential growth was supported by three mega deals and $12 billion in total contract value, said K Krithivasan, its chief executive and managing director.
"While the macroeconomic headwinds continue, we see sustained customer conviction in technology investments," he said.
