Zoom Operating Chief to Leave for Intel Executive Role

By Katherine Hamilton

Zoom Communications Chief Operation Officer Aparna Bawa is departing to become chief legal and people officer at Intel.

Bawa will leave Zoom on May 8, the video-conferencing company said in a Thursday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Intel said Bawa will lead its legal, ethics, compliance, people and culture organizations, reporting directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

Bawa has served as Zoom's operating chief since May 2020, when traffic to the company surged in the wake of social distancing policies spurred by the Covid-19 pandemic.

At Zoom, Bawa's total compensation was $1.2 million in 2025.
