Health Care Up as Eli Lilly Rallies — Health Care Roundup

Health-care companies rose after a long-awaited regulatory approval for a weight-loss pill.

Eli Lilly shares rallied after the obesity-drug maker's once-daily anti-obesity pill received approval from U.S. drug regulators, hard on the heels of rival Novo Nordisk, which has been selling a pill version of its Wegovy since the start of this year.

German drug and chemicals maker Bayer is looking at expanding its pharmaceutical manufacturing footprint in the U.S., the head of its pharma unit said, as the business turns to the world's largest drug market to fuel a turnaround following struggles with Roundup lawsuits.
