Meta's Smart Glasses Withheld From EU, Bloomberg Says, Citing Source

-- The rollout of Ray-Ban smart glasses, which Meta makes in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, has been hampered in the European Union by battery and artificial-intelligence regulations, Bloomberg reports, citing an unnamed source.

-- The Facebook parent has been unable to secure enough supply, according to Bloomberg.

-- Meta is in discussions with the EU about a law under which devices sold in the region will be required to include removable batteries by 2027, and is seeking a carve-out for smart glasses developed both by it and other companies, Bloomberg reports.

-- EssilorLuxottica declined to comment to Bloomberg.
