Zoox Continues Expanding Robotaxi Services
By Connor Hart
Zoox will expand its robotaxi service into new U.S. markets and grow operations in existing cities as it continues to scale its footprint.
The Amazon.com-owned company said Tuesday that it plans to launch its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, and Miami, Florida, where it has been testing its technology since mid-2024.
"The initial rollout will be within a small area of both cities, and rides will first be available to Zoox employees, their families, and friends," the company said, noting that operating areas will expand as testing progresses.
The company also plans to increase operations in San Francisco and Las Vegas, where it currently operates.
Zoox said it will quadruple its operating area in San Francisco this spring, extending service across much of the eastern half of the city. In Las Vegas, the company plans to more than double its service footprint, adding destinations including the Las Vegas Convention Center and major hotels along the Strip, as well as venues such as Sphere and T-Mobile Arena.
Chief Executive Aicha Evans said the expansion reflects progress made through earlier deployments.
"We are actively implementing learnings to confidently and safely scale our robotaxi service across the country and bring our differentiated experience to even more riders," she said.
