General Dynamics Unit Gets $15.4 Billion Contract Modification From Navy for Submarine Work
By Katherine Hamilton
A General Dynamics unit was awarded a $15.38 billion contract modification from the Navy to help design ballistic-missile submarines.
The contract is an addition to an earlier award to design, support class lead yard and enhance submarine industrial base supplier development.
The industrial-base development work is for the Navy's plan of serial production of Columbia- and Virginia-class attack submarines, the Defense Department said.
Work is expected to be completed by June 2035.
