Apple Acquires MotionVFX
By Kelly Cloonan
Apple has acquired MotionVFX, which offers a portfolio of plug-ins and templates for video editing.
MotionVFX said in a post to its website that Apple's products align with its own focus on quality, ease of use and great design. The company didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal.
MotionVFX has long been tied to Apple's ecosystem. The Polish company designs plug-ins and add-ons for Apple's Final Cut Pro, the tech giant's professional video-editing software. MotionVFX also develops a set of tools for Adobe's Premiere Pro software.
The deal comes as Apple doubles down on its services business, which has contributed a greater share to the company's top line in recent years.
