Stellantis Seeking European Investment Deals With China Rivals, Bloomberg Says, Citing Sources

-- Stellantis has met with Chinese carmakers including Xiaomi and Xpeng, seeking investment in its lackluster European operations as it focuses its own investments on the Americas, Bloomberg says, citing people familiar with the matter.

-- Options discussed include acquiring stakes in Maserati or other brands, and talks have also covered access to production capacity as Chinese groups seek to grow in Europe, the people said, according to Bloomberg.

-- Stellantis said it doesn't comment on speculations, while a media representative for Xpeng declined to comment and Xiaomi didn't immediately respond to a request for comment, Bloomberg said.
