Partners Group Chair Warns Private Credit Default Rates Could Double, FT Says, Citing Interview

-- Private credit default rates might as much as double over the next few years, the chair of Partners Group said in an interview with the FT.

-- Steffen Meister, chair of the firm, said in the interview that annual defaults in private credit have sat around 2.6% over the last decade. The rate could very well double in the next few years, he added.

-- Meister's comments in the FT interview come as investors have been pulling money from U.S. private credit funds, amid fears surrounding credit quality and the effect AI will have on software companies, the FT reports.
