Xenon Pharmaceuticals Shares Surge on Positive Study Data for Azetukalner

Xenon Pharmaceuticals shares rose after the company said it received positive data from its study of its investigational treatment for focal onset seizures.

Shares rose 46.5% to $61.45.

The biopharmaceutical company said Monday that the Phase 3 X-TOLE2 study of azetukalner met its primary endpoint in both the 25 milligram and 15 milligram doses, compared with the placebo group.

The drug also showed a favorable safety profile.

Xenon said it plans to submit a new drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the third quarter.
