Intel Chair Frank D. Yeary to Retire in May

By Josh Beckerman

Intel said Chair Frank D. Yeary will retire from the board in May and Craig H. Barratt was elected as his replacement, effective following the annual meeting.

Yeary joined the board in 2009 and was named chair in January 2023.

Barratt was the chief executive of Barefoot Networks, which Intel acquired in 2019. Barratt joined the board in November.

Yeary said that with Intel's stronger balance sheet and "meaningful progress across our roadmap -- including Intel 18A and 14A" and a clear path forward under CEO Lip-Bu Tan, "this is the appropriate time for me to step down as chair and from the board and transition leadership to a new independent chair."
