CPP Investments, Equinix in $4 Billion Deal to Buy Nordic Data-Center Operator atNorth
By Aimee Look
CPP Investments and digital-infrastructure company Equinix agreed to jointly acquire Nordic data-center operator atNorth for $4 billion, including debt.
AtNorth owner Partners Group, which bought the company in 2022, said that it had committed to reinvest and buy back up to 10% of the data-center operator after the sale.
AtNorth operates multiple sites in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
"The investment further enhances CPP Investments' global data center strategy and builds out its presence in Europe," the investment arm of the Canada Pension Plan said. Equinix said the deal would bolster its existing data-center operations in the Nordics.
