Deutsche Telekom Net Profit Falls on Costs, Revenue Rises

By Najat Kantouar

Deutsche Telekom reported lower net profit for last year's fourth quarter, partly due to the integration costs stemming from its UScellular acquisition, though revenue rose.

The German telecommunications company said Thursday that net profit fell to 1.72 billion euros ($2.03 billion) from 4.18 billion euros for the same period a year earlier.

The decline was partly driven by 0.2 billion euros of expenses from deconsolidations, disposals, and acquisitions and 0.5 billion euros of expenses for staff-related measures, among other elements.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization after leases--a closely watched profitability metric in the industry--increased to 10.83 billion euros from 10.63 billion euros.

Revenue rose to 31.72 billion euros from 30.93 billion euros, reflecting growth across all of its key regions, which includes Germany, the U.S. and Europe. Meanwhile, service revenue--a closely watched metric in the industry--grew slightly above 2% to 25.35 billion euros.

Analysts had forecast revenue at 31.275 billion euros and adjusted EbitdaaL at 10.72 billion euros, according to a company-compiled consensus.

The board declared a dividend of 1 euro a share for 2025, compared with 90 European cents a year earlier.

For 2026, Deutsche Telekom expects group adjusted Ebitdaal of around 47.4 billion euros and free cash flow after leases of around 19.8 billion euros. It anticipates adjusted earnings per share of around 2.20 euros.
