United Overseas Bank Shares Fall After Posting Profit Decline
By Amanda Lee
United Overseas Bank shares fell after the Singapore lender posted lower fourth-quarter profit.
The stock declined by as much as 4.6% to 37.00 Singapore dollars on Tuesday morning, putting it on track for its biggest one-day percentage loss since April 2025.
Net profit for the three months ended December fell 7.0% from a year earlier to S$1.41 billion, equivalent to US$1.11 billion. Total income was down 5.0% on the year at S$3.29 billion.
UOB's board recommended a final dividend of S$0.71 a share, bringing the total dividend for the full year to S$1.56 a share.
The bank's overall results seem neutral to negative, and its final dividend of S$0.71 a share missed consensus expectations, said Citi Research analyst Tan Yong Hong in a note.
The market likely anticipated a higher dividend from UOB due to its robust 14.9% common equity tier 1 ratio, he said.
