Ericsson, Microsoft Team Up for 5G Laptop Management in Windows 11
By Kelly Cloonan
Ericsson and Microsoft are working together to integrate artificial intelligence-based 5G capabilities directly in Windows 11.
The companies said Tuesday the solution would combine Microsoft's device management with Ericsson's Enterprise 5G Connect, an AI-driven platform that monitors network quality and automatically adjusts connectivity.
The move aims to allow information technology teams to automate how devices connect and switch between communications service providers' networks. It will also minimize manual setup and ensure consistent user experience across locations and service providers, the companies said.
The solution is available to enterprise customers in several markets, including in the U.S. with T-Mobile, in Sweden with Telenor, in Singapore with Singtel, and in Japan with SoftBank. The companies plan to offer the solution in other markets this year, including in Spain with MasOrange, in Germany with O2 Telefónica Germany and in Finland with Elisa.
