SiTime in Talks With Renesas on Acquiring Its Timing Unit

SiTime said Wednesday that it was exploring a deal with Japanese chip maker Renesas Electronics about the acquisition of the latter's timing operations.
Renesas, which makes specialty chips for cars, home technology and other applications, confirmed the talks, but said nothing has been decided on any potential sale.
Renesas's clocks and timing unit makes silicon-based oscillators, clock synthesizers and other products, according to the company's website.
