Canada to Issue 10-Year Green Bond
By Paul Vieira
OTTAWA--Canada's Department of Finance said it intends to issue this week a Canadian-dollar 10-year green bond.
A spokesman didn't immediately respond to questions about the bond's pricing and how much the government is looking to raise.
Since launching almost four years ago, Canada has issued five green bonds, raising 15.5 billion Canadian dollars, or the equivalent of $11.4 billion. Maturities for those bonds have ranged from seven to 30 years.
