Adidas to Buy Back EUR1 Billion in Stock After Preliminary 4Q Revenue Shows Increase

By Elias Schisgall

Adidas is introducing a share-repurchase program for 2026 after it reported higher preliminary revenue for the most recent quarter.

The German footwear and apparel company on Thursday said its preliminary fourth-quarter financial results showed revenue of 6.08 billion euros ($7.27 billion), rising from 5.97 billion euros a year ago.

The company also reported a 11% year-over-year increase in currency-neutral revenue for the Adidas brand in the fourth quarter. Including Yeezy sales from 2024, revenue from the past quarter grew by 10%, the company said.

Adidas said its operating profit was 164 million euros on a preliminary basis, compared with 57 million euros a year earlier.

Preliminary gross margin improved by one percentage point, to 50.8%, the company said.

The company also said its supervisory board approved a 1 billion euro buyback program, due to the company's brand momentum and robust fundamentals.

It said the repurchases would begin next month and continue through 2026. Adidas intends to cancel the repurchased shares, it said.

The company is expected to release its full financial results for 2025 on March 4.
