Wells Fargo, Three Others Partner on AI-Powered Solutions for Wildfires
By Elias Schisgall
Wells Fargo, Salesforce, Lockheed Martin and PG&E are partnering to launch a new artificial-intelligence-powered wildfire solutions venture.
The new venture, known as Emberpoint, will use AI and autonomous systems to help detect wildfires, prevent their spread, and coordinate mitigation, the companies said Monday.
Wells Fargo is providing a capital investment for Emberpoint, which will be built in part on Salesforce's technology. Lockheed Martin is contributing prediction and detection technologies and autonomous response and suppression capabilities, while PG&E will bring wildfire mitigation experience, the companies said.
PG&E said it plans to seek regulatory approval to contribute to the venture.
The companies said the technology will be built out in the coming months, with demonstrations expected in this year.
