Walmart Outage Affects Thousands of Shoppers — Update
By Connor Hart
Walmart appeared to experience an outage earlier Tuesday, leaving thousands of customers unable to access the retail giant's mobile app and website.
More than 6,500 users reported outages shortly after 7 a.m. ET on Tuesday, according to outage tracking site Downdetector. Nearly three-fourths of users reported problems with Walmart's mobile app, while about a quarter experienced problems with the company's website.
Some users reported difficulties with or an inability to checkout, according to Downdetector.
The outage appeared to be fixed by around 8 a.m.
An account run by Walmart on X, called WalmartHelp, responded to users that its app and website should be back up and running.
"If you're still experiencing issues we recommend uninstalling and re-installing the app," the account posted. "If using the website, try clearing your cache and cookies."
