Fall in China's Industrial Profits Accelerates in November
China's industrial profits tumbled in November, dragged by a slump in the mining sector.
Industrial profits in November fell 13.1% compared with the same period a year earlier, sharply weaker than October's 5.5% drop. Profits in the mining sector slumped 27.2%, weakening the overall performance.
"The data shows slowing growth but remains resilient," Yu Weining from the National Bureau of Statistics said on Saturday.
Profits at major industrial enterprises grew 0.1% on year for the January-November period, rising for the fourth consecutive month.
Equipment manufacturing was the strongest engine, with profits growing 7.7% and contributing 2.8 percentage points to overall industrial profit growth, according to the bureau.
