SSE to Invest $43 Billion in Five-Year Plan to Grow Earnings, Dividends
By Adam Whittaker
SSE said it will invest 33 billion pounds, equivalent to $43.40 billion, through 2030 in a push to grow earnings and dividends.
The U.K. energy group said the fully-funded five-year plan will increase its exposure to U.K. electricity networks, with around 80%, or 27 billion pounds, being invested in this area.
Around 20%, 6 billion pounds, will be invested in renewables and system flexibility, it said.
SSE said it expects the investment plan to see gross regulated asset value--a key industry metric--increase at around a 25% compound annual growth rate over the period. It expects the plan to more than treble its regulated asset base, it said.
The plan should also see adjusted earnings per share grow to between 225 and 250 pence by the end of 2030. In tandem, dividends per share are expected to rise between 5% and 10% from a baseline of 64.2 pence in 2025.
The plan is funded by a mixture of cash-flow generation, debt and around 2 billion-pound placing of shares, it said.
