Southeast Energy Authority Plans $600 Million Sale of Energy Supply Revenue Bonds
By Josh Beckerman
The Southeast Energy Authority plans to sell $600 million of Series 2025H energy supply revenue bonds, with proceeds slated for the purchase of energy under a prepaid sales agreement.
Bond delivery is expected as early as the week of Nov. 17, according to a roadshow document posted on MuniOS.
Alabama-based cooperative district SEA will buy energy from Morgan Stanley Energy Structuring LLC for about 29 years. It will sell the energy to New York-based Long Island Power Authority.
The bonds are expected to mature from 2027 through 2034, according to a preliminary official statement posted on MuniOS.
Bond counsel expects interest won't be an item of preference for the alternative minimum tax for individuals.
SEA serves as a wholesale supplier for electricity and natural gas for its own members and other government-owned wholesale customers. In September, SEA issued $783.4 million of Series 2025D bonds, and on Nov. 14, it is expected to issue $2.7 billion of Series 2025E bonds.
Morgan Stanley is senior underwriter and Frazer Lanier is co-manager.
Moody's assigned an A1 rating.
