IBM, Andre Agassi's Company to Collaborate to Bring AI to Racquet Sports
By Katherine Hamilton
International Business Machines and Agassi Sports Entertainment--tennis star Andre Agassi's sports company--are collaborating to bring AI to racquet sports.
IBM will provide its watsonx.ai and computer-vision technology to Agassi's company to create tools that would analyze athletic movement using video footage, the technology company said Wednesday.
The technology would provide coaching directly to players' mobile devices, and also serve as a hub offering commercial features, content, entertainment and community-based experiences for players and fans. That would include opportunities to connect with Agassi and other athletes.
IBM Cloud and IBM Consulting would be leading the platform, the Armonk, N.Y., company said. The collaboration is expected to last multiple years.
