Leonardo, Rheinmetall JV Gets Italian Army Contract

A joint venture between Leonardo and Rheinmetall has been awarded a contract to supply armored vehicles to the Italian army, with the first delivery due by the end of this year.

The companies--which have an equal share in the Leonardo Rheinmetall Military Vehicles Joint Venture--said Wednesday that they would supply 21 vehicles to the Italian army under the contract.

The agreement also includes upgrading the army's fleet as well as crew training.
