By Cristina Gallardo

Orange reached a deal to buy Lorca's 50% stake in Spain's MasOrange for 4.25 billion euros ($4.92 billion).

The French telecommunications company said Friday that it will become the sole owner of MasOrange following the acquisition of Lorca's stake, strengthening its position in the southern European country.

The agreement will be signed by the end of the year, with the acquisition likely to be completed in the first half of 2026, Orange said.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals, it added.
