Adyen Shares Climb After Net Revenue Rises on Continued Growth

By Najat Kantouar

Adyen shares rose after the company reported a double-digit percentage rise in net revenue for the third quarter, reflecting continued growth across all its regions.

Shares in European morning traded 7.8% higher at 1,561.20 euros. Year to date, shares have risen 8.6%.

The Dutch payments company said Wednesday that net revenue for the period rose 20% on year to 598.4 million euros ($697.3 million). The increase was mainly driven by wallet share expansion for existing customers, which refers to the amount an average customer spends within the payments market.

Within this, digital net revenue grew 10% on year to 335 million euros, reflecting robust momentum in content and subscriptions along with delivery and mobility segments. Meanwhile, unified commerce net revenue increased 32% to 194.8 million euros, driven by its retail unit.

Processed volume rose 8% on year to 346.9 billion euros, or 19% on year excluding a single large-volume customer, it added.

Analysts had expected total net revenue at 592.1 million euros and total processed volume at 359.2 billion euros for the third quarter, according to a Visible Alpha consensus.

Looking ahead, Adyen still expects full-year net revenue growth to be broadly in line with the first half's 20%.

It also anticipates net revenue to grow within the low-to-mid twenties percent next year, and for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization margin above 50%.
