By Kelly Cloonan

Hershey has entered a new, five-year credit agreement allowing it to borrow up to $1.875 billion.

The chocolate maker has the option to increase the aggregate amount of the commitments by up to $1 billion with the consent of its lenders, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

The company also terminated its existing five-year credit agreement from 2023.

The prior facility provided for an unsecured revolving credit facility under which the company could borrow up to $1.35 billion with the option to increase its total commitments by up to $500 million.
