Waste Connections Raises Quarterly Dividend by 11.1%

Waste Connections said its board approved an 11.1% increase to the company's quarterly dividend.

The new dividend, 35 cents per share, represents an annual payout of $1.40. The dividend was raised from the previous level of 31.5 cents per share.

The new dividend will be payable on Nov. 20 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Nov. 5.

Based on the company's closing share price of $173.80 on Tuesday, the new dividend represents a yield of about 0.8%.

In August of last year, the solid waste services company raised its dividend to 31.5 cents per share from 28.5 cents.
