Marsh & McLennan 3Q Profit Flat, Revenue Rises
By Adriano Marchese
Marsh & McLennan's third-quarter profit remained flat despite a strong performance across its segments driving revenue higher.
The professional services firm posted on Thursday an unchanged net income of $747 million, or $1.51 a share.
Adjusted earnings were $1.85 a share. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting $1.78 a share.
Revenue rose to $6.35 billion from $5.7 billion, topping analyst expectations of an increase to $6.32 billion.
Marsh & McLennan's results benefited from a 13% increase in its risk and insurance services businesses, which reached $3.9 billion in the period, as well as a 9% increase from its consulting segment, generating $2.5 billion.
Earlier this week, the company said it plans to change its brand to Marsh and create a new unit focused on investments in data, AI and analytics. The change will take effect at the start of next year, while the company's four businesses will adopt the Marsh brand in 2027.
