Dentsply Sirona Shares Rise After SEC Probe Ends

By Katherine Hamilton

Dentsply Sirona shares gained after the Securities and Exchange Commission concluded its investigation of the company.

The stock rose 7% to $13.30 in after-hours trading Tuesday. Through the close, shares were down 34% this year.

The SEC had begun a probe in 2022 into accounting practices at the dental-supplies maker. The investigation focused on the company's use of incentives to sell products to distributors in 2021, and whether those incentives were accounted for in financial reports.

Dentsply said it fully cooperated with the SEC throughout the investigation. It views the probe's closure as a "significant and favorable development."
