China Launches Antimonopoly Probe Into Qualcomm
By Sherry Qin
Beijing has launched an investigation into U.S. semiconductor giant Qualcomm for suspected violation of the country's antimonopoly law, China's top market regulator said.
Qualcomm failed to declare the concentration of operators when acquiring Israeli startup Autotalks, China's State Administration for Market Regulation said Friday.
Qualcomm didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
The U.S. semiconductor company acquired the Israeli chip designer in June to boost its communication solutions between vehicles and their surroundings.
Qualcomm's shares were recently 3% lower in premarket trading.
