SEALSQ Stock Rises With 'Made-in-U.S.' Strategic Partnership

By Emon Reiser

Shares of SEALSQ climbed after the Swiss semiconductor company said it has entered a strategic partnership to co-develop "Made-in-U.S." post-quantum cryptography tailored for America's defense and government agencies.

The stock rose 18% to $5.15 a share in midday trading, on pace for its highest close since January. Month to date, the stock is up over 40%.

SEALSQ, short for Semiconductors & Quantum Security Solutions, on Thursday said it is joining forces with Trusted Semiconductor Solutions after the Trump Administration took aim at chip makers to forge more of their technologies in the U.S., reducing the country's reliance on semiconductors made overseas. The policy is expected to be a boon for tech companies increasing production in the U.S.

The partnership's three-phase roadmap includes the co-development of post-quantum cryptography-enabled integrated circuits targeting FIPS 140-3, the U.S. government's security requirement for cryptographic modules; the development of next-generation secure architecture, including chiplet-based hardware security modules; and combining SEALQ's QS7001 secure element with TSS's semiconductor platforms.

SEALSQ on Wednesday released unaudited preliminary results touting 41% revenue growth to $9.9 million. The company said it expects full-year revenue between $17.5 million and $20 million, representing up to 82% growth year over year.
