Verizon agreed to acquire Starry, a fixed wireless broadband provider serving multifamily homes, expanding its offerings in urban centers.
Verizon on Wednesday said the acquisition would expand its internet offerings for multifamily homes and accelerate its plan to double its fixed wireless subscribers to between 8 million and 9 million. It added this will expand fixed wireless broadband availability to 90 million households by 2028.
Starry serves 100,000 multifamily unit customers in Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.
The company didn't disclose any financial details.
