Fortescue Offers to Buy Up to $600 Million in Debt

By Rhiannon Hoyle

Australian miner Fortescue on Tuesday said it will buy up to $600 million of outstanding debt.

Fortescue said tender offers target its 5.875% senior notes due 2030, 4.375% senior notes due 2031 and 6.125% senior notes due 2032.

The company issued the 2032 Notes in 2022 to finance clean-energy projects, but has since pared its pipeline as the Trump administration cuts support for clean-energy industries.

"While the company is offering to purchase the 2032 Notes, Fortescue intends to continue providing annual updates until it has invested an amount equal to the net proceeds of the 2032 Notes under Fortescue's sustainability financing framework," it said.
