Siemens Exploring Healthineers Spinoff Options, Bloomberg Says, Citing Sources
--Siemens is exploring the spinoff of a large part of its majority stake in Siemens Healthineers in a relatively untested structure, Bloomberg reports, citing unnamed sources.
--The conglomerate has been talking to potential advisers on exit options for its 71% stake in the Frankfurt-listed medical-equipment unit, and is considering distributing the shares to its investors as a dividend, according to the sources, Bloomberg says.
--A so-called direct spinoff of the stake would allow Siemens to largely exit the business but such a transaction could lead to a potential tax hit for investors, Bloomberg says.
--A representative for Siemens declined to comment.
