Genasys Shares Surge on $9 Million U.S. Army Order
By Nicholas G. Miller
Shares of Genasys rose after the company said it received a $9 million order from the U.S. Army for the company's long range acoustic device systems.
The stock rose 16% to $2.59 in premarket trading after closing Monday down 14% so far this year.
The systems will be used on the Army's stabilized weapon mounts called Common Remotely Operated Weapon Stations, or CROWS.
"By providing CROWS operators with the ability to communicate to threats prior to engaging with lethal force, LRAD 450XL-RTs can be used to deescalate dangerous situations, reduce non-combatant casualties and collateral damage, enhance operator safety, and increase combat effectiveness," said Chief Executive Richard Danforth.
