Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Sets Up Offshoring Hub in India

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group has set up a global offshoring hub in India aimed at supporting a broad range of its operations.

The Japanese financial company said Tuesday that it established SMBC Global Services in the Indian city of Chennai to ensure stable system operations in the country, and that the unit will expand functions to support a wide range of the group's businesses.

Sumitomo Mitsui said it has continued to invest in India, where there is a deep pool of highly skilled information-technology and financial professionals.
