LVMH Names New CEO of Champagne Maker Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

By Adria Calatayud

LVMH said it appointed Thomas Mulliez as new president and chief executive of champagne brand Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, succeeding Jean-Marc Gallot, who is leaving the group.

Mulliez joined LVMH's Moet Hennessy business in 2020 and became a member of the unit's executive committee earlier this year, the French luxury group said Wednesday.

Gallot is leaving LVMH after 22 years with the group, including 11 as head of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, the company said. He will take on a new role at Paris Football Club, which is majority owned by the family of LVMH Chief Executive, Bernard Arnault, the company added.

LVMH also said Laure Baume would become president for the Europe, Middle East and Africa of Moet Hennessy.

Both appointments are effective next month, LVMH said.
