American Tower Names Vondran to Succeed Bartlett as President, CEO

By Colin Kellaher

American Tower has designated Steven Vondran to succeed Thomas Bartlett at the helm of the communications-focused real-estate investment trust.

The Boston company on Thursday said Bartlett plans to retire as president, chief executive and a member of the board on Feb. 1.

American Tower said Vondran, who has been executive vice president and president of its U.S. Tower Division since August 2018, will serve as global chief operating officer effective Nov. 1 and will become president and CEO upon Bartlett's retirement.

Vondran, who joined American Tower in 2000, will also join the board.

Bartlett joined American Tower in April 2009 and has been CEO since 2020.

American Tower said Eugene Noel, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the U.S. tower division, will succeed Vondran as executive vice president and president of the division.
