Trending: BT Group Taps Telia's Allison Kirkby as CEO
0904 GMT - BT Group is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past three hours, according to Factiva data, after the British telecommunications group appointed Swedish peer Telia's Allison Kirkby as chief executive officer. Kirkby will assume the role from the end of January, the FTSE 100-listed company said. "Shareholders will hope she breathes some life into the business, as it has been moping along for too long," AJ Bell head of investment analysis Laith Khalaf said in a market comment. Kirkby--who has been a nonexecutive director at BT Group since 2019--will earn a salary of 1.1 million pounds ($1.41 million) annually and benefits in line with BT Group's remuneration policy. Shares slid 0.7% following the announcement. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (christian.moess@wsj.com)
