Constellation Brands' Rob Sands to Retire as Chair, Continue as Board Member
By Denny Jacob
Constellation Brands on Thursday said Rob Sands will retire as board chair and won't stand for re-election at its shareholder meeting.
The Victor, N.Y.-based maker of beer, wine and spirits said Sands will remain a member of the board.
Sands has served as board chair since 2019 and chief executive officer from 2007 to 2019.
Constellation said its board has engaged in a process to identify a new board chair and will provide an update at its shareholder meeting on July 18.
The company had said in November that Sands and his brother Richard would retire from their executive positions once Constellation completed the elimination of its Class B common stock.
